Whitney & Benton's love story is one I have been DYING to share with you guys since the moment they first booked me as their wedding photographer! So- we've all seen the movies about childhood sweethearts, right? Well, this is a real life love story and it's super sweet!
Whitney first came into Benton's life over 30 years ago when his Me'Mama took care of Whitney as an infant. The two stayed in each other's lives throughout the years, but it wasn't until Christmas 2018 when the two started officially dating! Benton gifted Whitney with a vintage Nintendo that he had built himself. A year later, Benton mentioned to Whitney that he needed to do an update on her Nintendo. After returning the "updated" game to her, they decided to play a few games of Mario. Once Whitney won the game, a message popped up saying:
"I have found my Princess! I love you, Whitney! Will you marry me?"
How creative is that?!! I feel for any guy out there who is thinking about proposing to the love of their life... they all will need to top this genius move! ;)
Whitney has always cherished their childhood photos and memories. She asked if they could recreate one photo in particular that was taken at her mother's wedding. Benton was a junior groomsman and Whitney was a junior bride. So it wasn't even an option- we HAD to recreate this special moment as bride & groom! :)
Being that we are still very much in the middle of a pandemic, their wedding looked a lot differently than they had originally planned. Their guests in attendance were only about ¼ of the original crowd, but I think their wedding turned out to be BEAUTIFUL, intimate and most memorable! Being that Benton's birthday falls on October 4th and Whitney's falls on October 6th, the couple chose to be wed on October 5th since it falls right in between!
Following the ceremony, we headed to a local park where we could get pictures of just the two of them to celebrate their next chapter as husband and wife!
Benton and Whitney, I wish you two nothing but the best in life! It's been such a pleasure to get to know you both a little better throughout all your wedding planning! I am so thankful that I was able to witness and capture your wedding day as you two became one! You both have worked your whole lives to build this firm foundation and I'm so happy to see you start your marriage off on a strong note! Not many couples have the privilege of knowing each other so well prior to getting married!
