Below are some frequently asked questions that may help provide some information for you! Please feel free to reach out with any other additional questions!
How Would You Describe Your Style?
My style is timeless & classic! I love using natural light as the light source for my photos whenever possible! I don't use filters or presets to edit. My images are true to color and I tend to shoot closer cropped, where the image focuses more on the subject rather than the backgrounds or surroundings!
How Long Have You Been Doing Photography?
I started learning photography in college back in 2010. I learned film first (everything from shooting on film to developing film to developing my own prints), then learned digital photography. I graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts and a concentration in Photography. I have been shooting weddings and portraits sessions ever since! I'm always open for new ideas! I love meeting new clients and seeing returning clients!
Can You Edit Out Blemishes?
All the photos that I deliver to my clients are fully edited! I take the time to color correct or adjust exposure. I edit out anything that wouldn't normally be there such as acne, small scrapes/scratches, or possible marks on clothes. I do not Photoshop things such hair color, body types or anything else that would change the overall natural appearance of a client. Those types of changes are considered digital altering, which isn't my style!
How Much Do You Charge For a Session?
I offer various sessions! I encourage future clients to reach out to me directly with any pricing inquiries so that I'm able to suggest the best package and most accurate quote for what you are looking for specifically! I also love the opportunity to chat and get to you know you a little better!
Do You Shoot Elopements & Small Weddings?
YES! I believe that elopements and smaller weddings are every bit as important as the larger weddings! I have smaller packages that you can build off of and customize to fit your big day! Please message me directly with details and I can provide you with the best fit for you and your fiancé!
What Should I Expect?
Expect to start on time! In most cases, the time of your shoot is going to be planned around when the sun is either rising or setting. If the sun gets too high, shadows become harsh and skin tones can be blown out. If it gets to be too dark, there won't be enough light to take pictures or your images will be grainy and non-descript.
Expect to have fun! I LOVE what I do and I love meeting new clients and seeing returning ones! I'm always open to ideas that my clients my have and I'm always looking for the best spot with the best lighting & background!
Expect for me to slightly freak out when I check the back of my camera and see a shot I LOVE! :) And expect for me to run up and share it with you because I can't contain my excitement!
What Should I Wear?
Wear something your feel comfortable in! The more comfortable you feel with your outfit, the more relaxed you'll feel in front of the camera!
Whatever color you wear has the potential to bounce back and reflect onto your skin tone in certain lighting. For that reason, you may want to choose either light, neutral or dark colors! Light and neutral colors will reflect light back onto your face/skin and dark colors will absorb the light. Bright colors (red, orange, green, etc) can all reflect color back onto your skin and create a color cast on you!
If you are wanting to add some prints into your clothing mix, try to keep them in the same color family and avoid using TOO many prints, as it can be very "busy" to the eye! Feel free to contact me directly for any further suggestions!
Can I Bring My Dog?
Pets are just as important as a human family member and I encourage every one who is thinking of including their dog(s) into their session to do so! The only thing I ask is that you keep your dog(s) from jumping up on me, as I will be carrying expensive equipment and want to avoid damage at all costs! :)
If you're wanting some shots with your pet(s) and some shots without, you may want to consider having a friend present at your shoot who can take the leash from you so you can get a few photos without them!
How Many Images Will I Receive?
The number of photos that are delivered can vary depending on what each client is desiring from their photo session! I'm constantly shooting during our session and I have the hardest time narrowing it down to a handful of photos to give back, so numbers can vary, but you will be getting back the majority of the photos taken during your shoot! The length of your photoshoot can also impact the final number of images you receive. Throughout the shoot, I'll be showing you sneak peeks from my camera to make sure you're getting the photos you envisioned!
How Long Does It Take To Get My Pictures Back?
Just like you are excited to get your edited images back, I'm just as excited to deliver them to you! Seeing my client's reactions as they fall in love with their photos is half the fun & satisfaction of being a photographer! Unless otherwise stated in your contract, you can expect your pictures to be returned to you within 2 weeks of your scheduled shoot!
Can I Print My Photos?
Yes! Unless otherwise stated in your contract, clients have printing rights to their images! I am partial to a local professional lab located here in Florence, but you are welcome to print at any lab you prefer! Since you are taking the time to have your pictures professionally taken, I'd encourage that you choose at least a handful of images to have professionally printed, whether it's through me or if you do it independently through your gallery! There is a huge difference in professional quality and drugstore/retail lab quality.
Do You Offer Payment Plans?
I completely understand that everybody comes from different financial backgrounds and aren't always prepared to pay for larger investments, such as wedding packages, in-full at the time of booking. I require a non-refundable, 10% deposit to reserve your date (both for weddings and portrait sessions). The link that I send you in your invoice allows you to make partial payments and pay as you wish up until a week or so prior to the event! If more time is needed, just let me know! I can simply hold your pictures until your payments are complete!
Please contact me directly if you have any additional questions! I'd love to hear from you!
