Weatherford Wedding

I'm not sure I've ever seen a wedding come together so quickly and so beautifully as Puja & Gordon's wedding! You've probably heard the saying "Less is More" and this was the PERFECT example. A gorgeous couple, their immediate family members, a beautifully landscaped backyard, a quaint ceremony officiated by the bride's best friend of over 20 years and a few handmade touches made this wedding a day to remember.
Puja initially reached out to me E I G H T days before her wedding! You guys...in those 8 days she managed to:
- Secure her photographer (SO honored I got to capture this amazing day!)
- Order 2 dresses online- which just happened to fit perfectly! (Side note: Where can I find that kind of luck?!)
- Find matching jewelry
- Get their rings cleaned
- Make a hair appointment
- Scour Lowe's for some flowers to spruce up the already gorgeous backyard
- Secure her officiant (thank God for best friends who can marry you and your fiancé!)
- Plan every other important detail of the day right down to the desserts served at the afterparty!
And just a little added detail- this was all happening while she prepared to graduate with her DOCTORATE the day BEFORE the wedding!
Gordon- I don't know if you know this or not, but you just married a real-life Superwoman!
As if all these accomplishments weren't enough- Gordon wasn't pleased with the metal arbor they had originally purchased. So he took matters into his own hands and went to work on building a wooden arbor (from SCRATCH) to marry his bride under!!
This basically makes Gordon a real-life Superman!
And we're not talking about just a "simple little something". We're talking pro-skills and intricate details. (I'm half-tempted to ask if he's taking orders for pergolas because my backyard sure could use a dose of pretty!)
Take a look...
The bride was SO impressed with her groom's carpentry skills, right along with everybody else!
"I'm mind-blown! He even used a PROTRACTOR!" -Puja
Puja and Gordon are about to begin a new chapter of their lives in Charleston, SC. They wanted to be married prior to moving, but still plan on having a larger, traditional wedding in the future. But there's something to be said for their small, intimate wedding. Every detail on their wedding day was so meaningful, personal and genuine. I can't think of a better way to start your marriage than in the company of your nearest, dearest family members... in the groom's beloved grandmother's backyard... and your closest friend officiating the service. The amount of love and support that surrounded them was so touching to witness.
As for the weather- it couldn't have been more perfect!
Low humidity... cool breeze... just enough sun peeking through the clouds... and a light sprinkle of rain for good luck! ;)
And don't think for one minute the rain kept the bride from being flawless! :D She still looked stunning, even while holding an umbrella waiting for the clouds to blow over!
(HUGE thanks to Chelsea & her husband for grabbing the umbrellas at the first drop of rain! This allowed for the perfect opportunity to snag a few additional detail shots!) ;)
Puja & Gordon- you both make one amazing team! You both poured your hearts into the first day of the rest of your lives and I have NO doubts you'll live happily ever after! Thank you both so much for allowing me into your lives and for the opportunity to capture these precious first moments as husband and wife. I'm truly blessed to have met you both! I can't wait to see what the future holds for you two! As for your families, it was so nice to meet everybody and I appreciate all their help as well!
Also, if for some reason your current career paths didn't pan out- I know one thing is for sure. Puja, you have a knack for wedding planning and, Gordon, you have a knack for woodwork- so your future is bright either way! ;)
Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Gordon Weatherford! I wish you a lifetime of happiness & I hope you both thoroughly enjoyed your "mini-moon" at Universal! :)
