If you've ever had ANY parts in planning a wedding, I'm sure you're familiar with the tremendous amount of work involved from start to finish. With every task that is checked off the to-do list, a little more excitement builds inside the bride & groom as they get another step closer to their big day! No couple should ever have to experience the stress of a global pandemic bulldozing their original wedding plans and postponing their wedding for an additional two months. Unfortunately, several couples this year will end up having to plan their wedding twice. While their special day might have looked slightly different than originally planned, Erin & Taylor faced this challenge like total champs and their day turned out BEAUTIFULLY!
They chose to get married at Cabin at Old Spur which made for a perfect quaint, country setting!
We did Erin's bridal portraits back in March and I'm so excited to finally be able to show them off! I specifically remember Erin talking about getting married on April 18th and teased that whether it be Taylor or another man, she would leave the venue THAT day with a husband! ;) *PLOT TWIST*: COVID-19 had another idea and threw a wrench into their original plans, forcing them to postpone their date until two months later on June 6th. But *SPOILER ALERT*: Erin & Taylor left the cabin married and so in love! :)
And now for some wedding day details! :)
Everybody was in high spirits as Erin and her bridesmaids started their getting ready process! The ladies sipped on margaritas in-between hair, makeup, and, of course, making some obligatory TikTok videos! These kind of moments are seriously some of my favorite parts of a wedding day when the bride-to-be enjoys every last moment of being a single woman and gets all dolled up for her soon-to-be husband! The excitement is overflowing and everybody in the room is enjoying each other's company! Erin finished up her mom's makeup before stepping into her gorgeous gown, which by the way was the only factor that differentiated her from her beautiful momma! I swear they are twins! ;) Once everybody was put together and dressed, Erin shared a very special first look with her father. I don't think there was a dry eye in the room as we witnessed this beautiful moment.
Meanwhile, downstairs the guys were busy getting all dressed up- from their pink floral ties all the way down to their matching polka dot socks! The energy in their room was similar to that of a pep rally! ;) All the groomsmen were pumped as they cheered Taylor on with compliments, mixed with some slight playful heckling! They all worked as a team to keep him behind closed doors to avoid seeing his bride before the time was right!
Their ceremony was nothing short of beautiful. Taylor wiped away tears as he caught his first glance of his future father-in-law walking his stunning bride-to-be down the aisle! It's no secret that their wedding day was hot and muggy- totally expected for summer in South Carolina- but, I'd be lying if I said their wedding didn't give me goosebumps. I absolutely love the message that Erin & Taylor's pastor shared with them and their wedding guests. He talked about how marriage is so much more than the "pretty parts" and how in time, every marriage is faced with challenges and love is tested. Marriage is so much more than the flirty, loving interaction between a couple. It's the decision to love that person through thick and thin for the rest of your lives together- bad moods & hard times included! I haven't known Erin & Taylor for SUPER long, but I'm confident they have the lasting love that it takes to pull through anything life throws their way!
Once the ceremony was over, it was time for these newlyweds to sign their marriage certificate and get comfy so the fun could begin! How sweet is it that Taylor helped Erin put on some comfy shoes?! Guys- take note. ;) Every gorgeous gown comes with a price! All those layers underneath can make it pretty difficult to reach your shoes! :)
Fun Fact: The Morehouse Wedding had 3 Erins there that day! Erin the Bride, Erin the Friend/Wedding Planner & Erin the photographer (myself)! While doing our best to avoid confusion, we quickly snapped some shots of the bridal party and made our way to the reception. Each couple in the wedding party had their own memorable entrance, followed by the announcement of the brand new Mr. & Mrs. Taylor Morehouse! All their first dances were so sweet and filled with all the feels- and as per usual, I cried behind my camera while trying to blink away tears in enough time to snap a picture :D
The couple toasted over their "his & her" margaritas, while enjoying their first meal as husband and wife! They chose a fun menu of their favorites: a taco bar complete with all the appropriate "fixin's" and chicken & waffles! For dessert they had an array of sweets, followed by wedding cake!
So, their whole wedding day through, the sky was pretty much gray. They actually had been calling for rain the whole week leading up to it, but luckily the rain held out. To our surprise, Taylor and Erin managed to have a GORGEOUS sunset to end their perfect day. It made for the perfect backdrop for their sparkler exit! :) I really don't think it gets much better than that! Taylor celebrated with celebratory cigars with his groomsmen and Erin took the the dance floor to dance the night away with her friends & family!
Erin and Taylor, thank you SO much for choosing me to be your wedding photographer and for allowing me to capture the first day of the rest of your lives together! It means so much to me and you have a beautiful support system behind you both. I CANNOT wait to see where life takes you guys and I'm so happy you chose me to capture it for you. It was a pleasure "working" with you both and I wish you nothing but the best in your marriage! I hope that "2020" is the biggest "mountain" you'll ever have to climb together and that it's all easy, breezy from here on out! Enjoy every step of this next chapter together! <3
